One of the proved actresses at the beginning stage of her career Anjali Patil who studied direction in NSD and moved on to films like Delhi in a Day, Chakravyuh, Indo Sri Lanka film, Telugu film Prathyayam is a treasure of talent.

A talented Anjali from Nasik opines that Karnataka is a state of beauty and brain. Beauty is what she ascertained from a week long shoot at rich natural forest at Kuduremukh and brain she attributes because of highest Jnanapith award winners in the state.

As a student of direction in NSD the young Anjali was baffled when she was offered a role in ‘Delhi in a Day’ and later she acted in a short film and the biggest offer of Prakash Jha in Hindi ‘Chakravyuh’ changed the whole mindset of this actress.

Anjali never aspired to become an actress is now devoted to acting and her main thrust is on direction of stage plays. This will happen soon and I am here in Kannada because of Dr Girish Karnad. After reading ‘Hayavadana’ – the first play I read the contents fascinated me. I read all plays of Karnadji and when director E Chennagangappa said he is casting Dr Girish Karnad in the film ‘Apna Desh’ the offer really tempted me says Anjali.

Her performance as a Naxalite (Maoist) in Prakash Jha ‘Chakravyuh’ has won rave reviews for Anjali Patil across the board. She is playing similar role in Kannada debut film ‘Apna Desh’.

Prior to Chakravyuh, Anjali was part of Prashant Nair's film Delhi In A Day and an Indo-Sri Lankan co-production With You Without You, which was based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's short story The Meek One. This Indo Sri Lankan project got her recognition at the recently concluded 43 Goa International film festival.

Anjali plays Vasundhara a bold and dashing girl who fights against the system in ‘Apna Desh’. I am in real life a fighter and this continues in this role.  Out of the 76 scenes Anjali Patil will be in 56 scenes of ‘Apna Desh’.
